At LeafThreadSeed, we recognize that plans can alter, and we are committed to providing equitable and clear refund provisions. This document details the circumstances in which refunds will be provided for yacht rental services.
Before booking your charter, please examine these refund terms meticulously. By confirming a charter with LeafThreadSeed, you are agreeing to these conditions.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Entitled to: Full refund excluding transaction charges
Process Duration: 5-7 business days
Transaction Fee: £50 for credit card transactions
Prerequisites: Must be made in writing through email or telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Qualified for: Half the total cost of the charter
Process Duration: 7-10 business days
Transaction Charge: £25 deducted from the amount returned
Prerequisites: A legitimate reason is required; admin fees are applicable
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: No reimbursement possible
Exception: Emergency situations may be taken into account
Alternate: A credit for hiring a yacht could be granted at our discretion
Prerequisites: Proof required for emergencies
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Commitment to Safety
We prioritize safety above all. Should the weather be unsafe for navigation, as judged by our certified captain, we offer several alternatives:
- Complete Reimbursement: Granted if rescheduling is unfeasible
- Rearrangement: Change your booking to our next accessible slot without extra cost
- Yacht Hire Credit: Issue of a credit note valid for one year from the original booking
Assessing Weather Conditions
Our assessment incorporates:
- Analyzing wind speeds and trajectory
- Survey of waves and maritime conditions
- Visibility and precipitation outlook
- Maritime alerts and directives
- Expert captain's risk evaluation
Decision Timing: Decisions on weather cancellations are made at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled leave time.
Refunds for Medical Emergencies
Exceptional Scenarios
We are mindful that emergencies can occur. The incidents that may warrant exceptional measures include:
- Instantaneous affliction or injury necessitating hospital admittance
- Demise within the immediate kin
- Forced military duty or urgent recall
- Compulsory jury service or legal orders
- Natural calamities disrupting travel
Providing Proof
For emergency refunding applications, please submit:
- A medical certificate or hospital records
- A certificate of death (where relevant)
- Military dispatch orders
- Legal notices or jury summons
- Travel warnings or declarations of emergency
Processing: Requests supported with proper documents are processed within a duration of 3-5 working days.
Operational Cancellations
Technical Malfunctions
Should the chartered yacht experience irreparable operational failures:
- Alternative Option: We will attempt to offer a yacht of similar quality
- Total Reimbursement: Applicable if no substitute is available
- Partial Reimbursement: Provided if the alternative yacht has dissimilar pricing
- Consolation: Further reparation may be given for the inconvenience
Unavailable Crew
In the unlikely event our certified crew is unattainable:
- A substitute crew will be sought when possible
- Entire reimbursement if the yacht hire cannot proceed
- Rearrangement at no surplus cost
Method for Refund Processing
Refund Method
Reimbursements will be returned via the initial payment method:
- Credit/Debit Cards: 5-7 business days
- Wire Transactions: 7-10 business days
- Cash or Check: 3-5 business days
Transaction Charges
Handling Credit Cards
£50 for canceling 72 hours ahead of time
Bank Transfers
£25 for all bank transfer refunds
International Transactions
Extra charges may be incurred for international transfers
Credits for Yacht Chartering
Issuing Credits
Credits for future charters might be offered instead of refunds under certain conditions:
- Cancellation with short notice (under 24 hours)
- Weather-related changes
- Voluntary rescheduling
- Unanticipated operational issues
Credit Guidelines
- Validity: Usable for one year from the issue date
- Non-transferable: Cannot be passed on to other parties
- Amount: For the entire value of the initially intended hire, void of handling fees
- Application: Can be used for any upcoming yacht bookings
- Irrevocable: There shall be no prolongations past twelve months
Compensation for Incomplete Services
Interruptions during Service
If the yacht rental is interrupted or ended early because of our own oversights:
- A proportionate refund for the unenjoyed period
- Credit for an identical future yacht rental
- Complimentary offers or perks
Disruptions Due to Guests
Where a hire is cut short due to the behavior of those on board or breaches of safety:
- No reimbursement for the part not used
- Total payment is still required
- There might be supplementary costs
Settling Disputes
Disagreeing with a refund verdict allows you to:
- Appeal for deliberation by our management
- Furnish further proof or details
- Look for third-party mediation
- Engage in legal action consistent with prevailing laws

Step 2: Submission of Details
Integrate the subsequent details in your refund appeal:
- Confirmation code of the booking
- Scheduled date and time of the charter
- Motivation for the cancellation
- Auxiliary documents (where necessary)
- Chosen method of refund
Step 3: Evaluation and Processing
We will acknowledge your claim within one day, assess it per our policy, make a decision within two days, and execute confirmed refunds within the specified periods.
Additional Points of Note
- All claims for reimbursement must be lodged in writing
- Repayments are conducted in £ even if the initial payment was in a different currency
- It is highly suggested to have travel insurance
- This document is prone to amendments post a 30-day notification period
- Refunds are subject to legally applicable taxes and rules
